# Pearl Tools

Each tool here does one job with the same sourced figures as the rest of the site. Each one also shows its information as a chart, a list or a table, so it still works with JavaScript off.

- The [necklace length guide](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/necklace-length-guide/) names any length you enter, using the seven standard lengths CIBJO defines, from the collar at 25 to 33 cm to the rope at about 115 cm or longer. [1]
- The [pearl size visualizer](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/pearl-size-visualizer/) draws a pearl of any size from 1 to 20 mm next to a US quarter, which is 24.26 mm across, and can be set to life size on your screen. [2]
- [Compare pearl types](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/compare-pearl-types/) sets the five pearl types in the Learn About Pearls dataset side by side, and lets you hide the types and rows you don’t need.
- The [quality self-check](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/pearl-quality-self-check/) takes you through GIA’s [value factors](https://learnaboutpearls.com/glossary/#value-factors) for a pearl you own, from [luster](https://learnaboutpearls.com/glossary/#luster) and surface to [nacre](https://learnaboutpearls.com/glossary/#nacre) and matching. [3]
- The [“are my pearls real?” checklist](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/are-my-pearls-real/) goes through the checks that can point to an imitation, and says what only a laboratory can settle. [4]
- The [care planner](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/pearl-care-planner/) turns GIA’s and CIBJO’s care advice into a plan for your own pearls. [1, 5]
- The [pearl regions map](https://learnaboutpearls.com/tools/pearl-producing-regions-map/) shows the countries where each type is mainly farmed.
- The [pearl timeline](https://learnaboutpearls.com/history/timeline/), in the history section, lists every dated event in pearl history.

The pearl figures come from the dataset, where every value carries its own sources, such as GIA’s pearl FAQ and CIBJO’s pearl guide. [6, 7]
